The engine powering Alita is AlitA-1, a cutting-edge large-scale language model that we have developed over the past few years. Alita-1 has gone through several iterations during this time.

We trained a prototype LLM (Alita-0) with 33 billion parameters. This early model approached LLaMA 2 (70B) functionality on a standard LM benchmark, but used only half of its training resources. The most advanced language model, which is more powerful, is implemented 63.2% on HumanEval coding tasks and 73% on MMLU. To understand the capability improvements we made with Alita-1, we ran a series of assessments using a number of standard machine learning benchmarks designed to measure math and reasoning ability.
